Noah Ruis, voice, piano, guitar, musical theatre

Updated: Mar 5

Currently completing his AA at TSC with extensive previous training as a Voice Performance student at FSU, Noah Ruis offers a wealth of experience to his role as an arts instructor. He has portrayed a range of iconic characters, from Dr. Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde in Jekyll & Hyde to Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. His versatile performances exemplify his deep commitment to the art of storytelling, which he integrates seamlessly into his teaching.

Noah specializes in vocal body mapping, a technique that enhances voice performance through greater bodily awareness, enabling singers to use their voice more effectively and expressively. His instructional approach is deeply informed by his extensive theatre experience and his profound understanding of musical expression.

In addition to his vocal expertise, Noah is a skilled musician, proficient on multiple instruments including piano and guitar, with experience in both band and solo settings. His accomplishments are highlighted by several awards: two Superior Scores for solo voice at the Florida State/District Solo & Ensemble, numerous Superior Awards at the District/State Music Performance Assessment with Leon High’s Capital Singers and Madrigal Singers, and the Ray Kickliter senior scholarship award recognizing his musical excellence and contributions to the Leon High choral program. Furthermore, his performances at the Florida Thespian Festivals have earned him multiple accolades, including a Perfect Score Award at both District and State levels for Solo Musical, a Top Honors Award at the State level for Solo Musical, and a "Best in Show" Award at the District level for Large Group Musical.

Thrilled to be part of the teaching team at Making Light, Noah is committed to creating a collaborative and enriching learning environment. He aims to inspire and engage aspiring artists, helping students grow as performers, master their vocal technique, and understand the fundamentals of music theory and scales. Noah’s dedication to excellence motivates students to explore and excel in their musical journeys.
