Improv and Acting Skills
This fun, engaging theatre class uses games and theatre exercises to hone fundamentals of acting such as character development, storytelling, stage presence, teamwork and more. Imagine "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" with kids! Recreational level, this class is non-performance based and focused on fun. We use the Beat by Beat Press curriculum, Teaching Improv, which is specifically designed for kids. Each week includes a lesson, like "Teamwork and Trust," "Making Associations," "Building Characters," "Two-Person Improv Scenes" and "Group Improv Scenes." There are a series of games and group/individual activities and a reflection period in which kids comment on what they learned from the games -- and the instructor re-introduces the lessons and how the games/exercises relate to them.
**Class Time:** Thursdays, 6-7 PM, enrolls in December/January and July/August each year.
