Tallahassee Children's Theatre
Making Light is thrilled to announce our next production of the Tallahassee Children’s Theatre at MLP: Directed by Joe Svisco, Pete the Cat will run June 27 – 28 at the Making Light Theatre, presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
Based on the beloved books by Kimberly Dean and James Dean, this groovy musical adventure follows the laid-back, guitar-playing cat who shows a family—and a very organized young boy—that life is better when you roll with it. With upbeat music, playful storytelling, and a heartwarming message about friendship and creativity, Pete the Cat is a fun-filled journey that’s perfect for audiences of all ages.

About Tallahassee Children's Theatre at MLP
The Tallahassee Children’s Theatre at Making Light Productions shares MLP’s overall mission to provide high quality performing arts and jobs for teens and adults with disabilities. Adult performers stage productions for child audiences. "Tallahassee Children's Theatre provides not only a platform for teen and adult actors to perform for youth, but also a community that fosters growth and exploration,” says Making Light Productions Executive Director Juliet Yaques. “The opportunities it creates for actors in the community and the job training and opportunities it provides for the neurodiverse workforce are a testament to the theater's commitment to inclusivity and creativity."
The 2026 production of the Tallahassee Children's Theatre is supported in part by the Autism License Plate Fund and the Autism Services Grants Council.
