Laura Smith is a teacher and performer who brings her enthusiasm for music, pedagogy, and theater to Making Light Productions. Her eclectic performing background ranges from classical vocal study at the University of South Carolina to one-night-only Pink Floyd cover bands—fueling her passion for all the wonderful and weird sounds we can make.

Recently, you may have seen her as Meg in Quincy Music Theatre's production of Damn Yankees. As an instructor, she believes strongly in balancing foundational skills with a sense of exploration, encouraging curiosity and confidence in her students. Outside of her musical activities, Laura dabbles in gardening, baking, and knitting. She reads avidly. Sometimes, she tap dances.
