Laura Smith is a voice and piano instructor, performer, and film production teaching artist at Making Light Productions. Her musical background includes classical voice study at the University of South Carolina, musical theatre, contemporary performance, and instrumental exploration.

Laura has performed in theatrical productions including Meg in Quincy Music Theatre’s Damn Yankees. At Making Light, she teaches private music lessons and leads collaborative film production camps in which students develop stories, act for the camera, and participate in the filmmaking process.

Her teaching balances foundational technique with exploration, helping students develop musical skills, confidence, and creative independence.
