Janae Easton, Creative Director: Visual Design, Technical Theatre, Costuming, and Production Aesthetics

Janae Easton serves as Creative Director at Making Light Productions, where she helps shape the visual and technical identity of productions through set design, costume design, color, texture, production planning, and technical theatre. She has been part of the Making Light community since 2017 and plays a major role in the organization’s technical theatre and production programs.

Janae is an artist and former adjunct professor at Florida State University, where she taught painting and drawing. She also studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her fine arts background informs her approach to scenic design, visual storytelling, materials, and the practical construction of theatrical environments.

At Making Light, Janae contributes to scenic design, costume design, technical theatre instruction, and production planning for fully produced plays and musicals. She works closely with directors, designers, technicians, and students to create cohesive visual environments while helping young artists develop practical skills in design, construction, problem-solving, and theatrical production.
