Taylor Petty - Theatre Director: art, stagecraft, acting



Taylor, a proud graduate of Florida State University's esteemed theatre program, brings a wealth of experience and a versatile skill set to Making Light Productions. With a deep-rooted passion for theatre that originated in high school, Taylor has been involved in various capacities both on and off stage throughout her journey.


Her invaluable years of experience working with touring Broadway companies at her hometown theatre, the Mattie Kelly Arts Center, have shaped her into a true Renaissance woman of the theatre. Taylor's expertise spans multiple disciplines, including carpentry, costuming, makeup artistry, stage management, lighting, and beyond. Her diverse skill set allows her to approach the theatre from a holistic perspective, elevating her ability to bring captivating productions to life.


In addition to her technical prowess, Taylor has dedicated over four years to honing her improvisational and stage combat skills, ensuring dynamic and engaging performances. During her college years, she immersed herself in the wonders of world theatre practices and performance theory, further enriching her understanding of the art form.


As Taylor continues on her journey in arts education, she is thrilled to channel her passion into nurturing aspiring talents at Making Light Productions. Her commitment to fostering creativity and guiding students towards their artistic potential makes her an invaluable addition to our team.
